My sister in law Wendy sent this photo to me.....she thought I may know someone who may be interested to know there's more than one of you that loves Road House.....LOL

The article said:

Thought youd be interested in this . In
the June InStyle, Jamie-lynn Sigler of the Sopranos
said the following when asked about her favorite
movie:
"One thing I love about my boyfriend (Scott Sartiano)
is his appreciation for Patrick Swayze movies: For
him, its Road House; for me, Dirty Dancing."

What a weekend.....so far!!!!

Well so far it's been a great long weekend!!! I had to work today but working with people who ROCK HARD (You know who you are....) and then going to Chevy's for a cherry pepsi, chips & salsa makes up for working all day. Laughing with co-workers about the days events makes going to work each day a wonderful thing!!!

We went out on our friends boat Saturday and had a BLAST!!! Makes me really wish we had a boat!!!! It was so fun and you can see all the photos from our day at Flickr. The rope swing was AWESOME and Lorraine went up about 4000 points from jumping off of it!!! You ROCK GIRL!!

After I got home from Chevy's and work it was time for some family time. We went to Davis and had Dos Coyotos and then tried to see Pirates. The next show time was 10:00 PM and that was a bit too late for mom and dad. Wolfie was bummed but we will take them one night this week. We stopped by the grocery store on the way home and now all is good. Moms on the computer, so's Wolfie and Rob's reading to Lexi....do you hear the birds chirping? NO ??? Oh well that's cause it's nighttime.

Tomorrow we are having the peeps over for a swim/BBQ and it should proved a perfect ending to a great weekend!!

Tracks OVER!!!

Wolfie had his last track meet of the season on Thursday. Rob took the day off to take him and Justin and had a wonderful time sitting out in the hot sun, holding an umbrella so it would not fly away. The good part was watching the events and chatting with Trina's parents. Wolfie was glad track was over so now he's just playing Dragons Basketball. We swam and BBQ last night in honor of the athletes being done.

Wolfie Stand in Mom was there also with the camera and I hope she got a few good shots of Wolfie at his meet. My hubby was there but forgot the camera. So just remember wifes even if you send your hubby...it's a good idea to send a stand in mom along also!!! :-)

Here's a girl that we don't know her name and her friend Brooke!!!! Crazy swimmer girls!!!

Here's the MASTER BBQ Dude Joe. Yes, he's one of my male readers and almost begged me to take his picture and give him public kudos for bbq'ing in place of Rob. Joe you ROCK!!! Right now your #1 in the standings of stand in husbands. (For those of you who might be wondering what I'm talking about with stand in hubby/wife....well you know the saying..It Takes A Village.....) LOL

Here's 3 of the athletes having some dinner BBQ. Casey in the back was in mid motion dancing. The look you see on Wolfie's face I'm sure is the same teen look you may see for the next 4 or 5 years. Sorry readers!!! Justin is always happy to smile!!!!! BOBO SINCO!!!!

Here's Lori and Alyssa. Rob's been to school with Lori since they were in Kindergarten!! Alyssa is a crack up and is the epitome of a teen!!!

Rob had band practice, Luis had a "headache" and Brian and Katrina had a SERIOUS-HARD-CORE basketball committment....cause here in our town.........it's play basketball or DIE!!!! That's how us ballers roll.....

after 2 no shows............

this may happen to you.....yeah a migraine isn't any fun....I totally understand that.......believe me I get headaches......but come on.........you got to hang Luis.....Joe even manned the BBQ.....even if it almost caught on fire....LOL...........don't worry there's always a chance to work your way up the SouthLincoln Social Club......Game on!!! LOL :-)))))))))

P.S. this is my first lame attempt to not only be funny and give Luis good natured grief and use my PhotoShop Elements Program to cut things/people out and paste them on a background layer....as you can see it's not my sense of humor that needs work....... :-)

with the mostess......

How I love my hubby!!!!

Men Are Just Happier People:

What do you expect from such simple creatures? Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate is just another snack. You can be President. You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park. Car mechanics tell you the truth. The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky. You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. Same work, more pay. Wrinkles add character. Her Wedding dress - $5000. Your Tux rental - $100. People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them. The occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected. New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet. One mood all the time.

Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. You know stuff about tanks. A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase. You can open all your own jars. You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness. If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend.

Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack. Three pairs of shoes are more than enough. You almost never have strap problems in public. You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes. Everything on your face stays its original color. The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades. You only have to shave your face and neck.

You can play with toys all your life. Your belly usually hides your big hips. One wallet and one color for all seasons. You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look. You can "do" your nails with a pocket knife. You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache. You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.

No wonder men are happier.

Gummy Bear Song 4 the Kids !

evening outside........

It was a lovely night here in Nor Cal. The kids did their homework outside, we ate outside, had some wine outside (Yes I'm still trying to develope a taste for it) and just enjoyed being outside. I had the Gipsy Kings playing on the radio and it was just a relaxing evening............Rob's happy to be greeted when he gets home with a bottle of wine!!!

Check out more outside fun at flickr !

my type B guy

my guy is such a type b....mellow, laid back and just happy to sit and relax. I really should take more of a lesson from him. Unless I'm getting my nap in every now and then I always need to be on the go. Doing SOMETHING, going SOMEWHERE and talking to SOMEONE!!! I need to stop and smell the roses more often. I'm so busy seeing what's beyond the roses that I sometimes fall short of being in the moment. I do really try and stay in a moment....but that moment can really fly by when your on zoom mode all the time. Rob can really balance me out when I'm zooming too fast. I need to appreciate the slow times more or start drinking red wine with him at night.

How about you? Leave a comment and tell me if your a type A or B and how you think that affects you........

Cookie and the Dude.....

My friends sister works with this company and they make the cutest things for your head and purse!!!! Check them out........Cookie and the Dude

One more male reader.......

So I guess there's another somewhat-every-now-and-then male reader of mine. A good friends hubby which shall go un-named. Word on the street is that he's a big fan of Antonio Bandaras, Steven Segal and Patrick Swayze......we will try and break him of these B class actors and try to move up to more Academy Award winner type of actors. Don't tell me you like Bruce Willis also?????

He's onto something.........

Prevention

There are no surprises here. Despite various over-the-counter pills and tablets that claim to prevent hangovers, the only guaranteed way to prevent a hangover is to avoid alcohol. If you choose to drink, do so responsibly and in moderation. The less you drink, the less likely you are to have a hangover.

It may help to:

  • Eat first. Alcohol is absorbed more quickly if your stomach is empty. It may help to drink a glass of milk before drinking alcohol. Milk slows the absorption of alcohol by coating the lining of your stomach.

What 6th grade boys do....after the meet

Wolfie had his 3rd track meet today after school. It's a little confusing what events the kids all do....but hey I think he had fun and looked great!!!! You can see more competitive photos at flickr........instead of bo-bo and woof making sand castles.....

apples to apples

After dinner last night lexi wanted to play a game of apples to apples. It's a fun game and we have a good time playing it. We really should break it out more!!! Here's Lexi above getting the cards ready.

May Fair Day #2

I know that she who shall re-main nameless and faceless is in the above photo....but come on...how cool of a photo is that? It's also really cool, viewed large, at Flickr. You click on the photo, then click on the little button above the photo "VIEW ALL SIZES " and it will pop up bigger.

We survived another great day at the MayFair. It wasn't really that crowded at all and the weather was perfect. Well not PERFECT but it cooled off just in time and was nice.

Wolfie went with some friends to the All American Rejects concert and I think had a great time. He's still at their house so I don't have the complete run down yet. Of course who knows how many details I will really get from my wonderful boi! Thanks DEB & DAN for taking him and keeping your eye on him!!!

So it's another Saturday with the HUGE-TWO-HOUR-LONG-MAY-FAIR-PARADE and guess what ???? We are not going.....we are skipping it this year....after being at the fair for two days in a row....I'm ready to just chill today!!!! Of course there is a basketball tourney and a "40th birthday party for the class of 1985" but that's later..........you know I can't sit still for long right?

Shout OUT to my 2 male readers......

Yesterday sitting at the May Fair ,I found another male reader of mine. The one male reader is Joe, AKA Stand in Husband, and coincidentally the other male reader is also named Joe. I was very impressed that these two busy busy husbands and dads took the time to occasionally read my blog.

So this is a SHOUT OUT TO the Joe X 2 Coffee, Kids and a Blog readers!!!! I wish I had a prize to give you....but recognition in this blog is all your getting!!!!

Okay by the way my favorite quote from Friday comes from one of my blog readers and it goes something like this:

"I love the beer garden"

I will let you try and figure out which Joe may have said this......I know it will be tough......

good times

That time of year again!!!!!

It's time for the Dixon May Fair.....one of the oldest fairs in California I think...I will have my people do some fact checking on this but I think I'm right. The kids and I love the May Fair. Rob not so much since he grew up here and went every year of his life practically. It's a nice small fair and even though the carnies on the midway are like VULTURES it's still a great place to take the kids. Even when your 7 year old is BEGGING you to play each and every game you walk by. I would rather buy her a beannie baby instead of wasting (I mean spending) money on those games!!!

I'm a sucker for the night shots with all the fair lights in the background. Go and check out FLICKR for some fair fun!!!
