May Fair Day #2

I know that she who shall re-main nameless and faceless is in the above photo....but come on...how cool of a photo is that? It's also really cool, viewed large, at Flickr. You click on the photo, then click on the little button above the photo "VIEW ALL SIZES " and it will pop up bigger.

We survived another great day at the MayFair. It wasn't really that crowded at all and the weather was perfect. Well not PERFECT but it cooled off just in time and was nice.

Wolfie went with some friends to the All American Rejects concert and I think had a great time. He's still at their house so I don't have the complete run down yet. Of course who knows how many details I will really get from my wonderful boi! Thanks DEB & DAN for taking him and keeping your eye on him!!!

So it's another Saturday with the HUGE-TWO-HOUR-LONG-MAY-FAIR-PARADE and guess what ???? We are not going.....we are skipping it this year....after being at the fair for two days in a row....I'm ready to just chill today!!!! Of course there is a basketball tourney and a "40th birthday party for the class of 1985" but that's later..........you know I can't sit still for long right?

Shout OUT to my 2 male readers......

Yesterday sitting at the May Fair ,I found another male reader of mine. The one male reader is Joe, AKA Stand in Husband, and coincidentally the other male reader is also named Joe. I was very impressed that these two busy busy husbands and dads took the time to occasionally read my blog.

So this is a SHOUT OUT TO the Joe X 2 Coffee, Kids and a Blog readers!!!! I wish I had a prize to give you....but recognition in this blog is all your getting!!!!

Okay by the way my favorite quote from Friday comes from one of my blog readers and it goes something like this:

"I love the beer garden"

I will let you try and figure out which Joe may have said this......I know it will be tough......

good times

That time of year again!!!!!

It's time for the Dixon May Fair.....one of the oldest fairs in California I think...I will have my people do some fact checking on this but I think I'm right. The kids and I love the May Fair. Rob not so much since he grew up here and went every year of his life practically. It's a nice small fair and even though the carnies on the midway are like VULTURES it's still a great place to take the kids. Even when your 7 year old is BEGGING you to play each and every game you walk by. I would rather buy her a beannie baby instead of wasting (I mean spending) money on those games!!!

I'm a sucker for the night shots with all the fair lights in the background. Go and check out FLICKR for some fair fun!!!

Long Weekend......

What a nice, relaxing and fun weekend. Rob and I started off Friday night going out to dinner and a movie with a friend from work and her hubby. We had some rockin chinese food at the China House and then went and saw Perfect Stranger with Halle Berry and Bruce Willis. I have to say it was better than I thought it would be. I liked all the computer aspects to it.

Saturday we were up bright and early to head to the 2nd track meet. We drove over to Woodland for the track meet. It was hot and lots of waiting time. Wolfie did great in the relay hurdle and relay running race. Justin did great also and really did a wonderful job taking it all the way around the track!

After the meet we went and gave Chase (My Godson) his birthday gift and had lunch and a Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Cake. It was nice to just cool down and have some time to visit and chat with them. There is always lots of laughter and silly stuff going on around there!!! Good times my friends.....Hope you had a ROCKIN birthday Chase-E-Boy !

We then went home and Lexi got ready for a sleepover and Wolfie went to a slumber birthday party. Rob and I were going to head to a 40th birthday party but we were THRASHED!!! I just could not get motivated to get all dressed up and head out. Plus I'm getting a cold/allergy thing and not feeling great. We went to the Fathers House for Sat night church, got Taco Bell and then came home and watched Walk The Line....I LOVE that movie!!!!

Sunday was pure sloth like behavior! I did get several closets, drawers and baskets cleaned out and managed to fill an entire gray garbage can of stuff from around the house. This is also mixed in with 2 naps I took and about 8 loads of laundry! So all in all a nice day.......My cold/allergy is kicking in but I will rally....cause a moms life must go on!!!

It was a long, busy but tiring weekend......Here's Wolfie after coming home from a slumber birthday party. He sleep for a good 6 hours.....nothing like cuddling up in moms bed and just crashing!!

Lexi got home from a slumber party also and her allergies were bugging her bad. I gave her some allergy med and she curled up on the couch and took a good 2 hour nap!!

Like mom like daughter....still relaxing and watching an episode of SpongeBob on moms laptop. About 30 minutes later there was a little faux-pas and the laptop was dropped for the first time. I'm happy to report that no children were harmed and the computer is working fine. Good thing! :-)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Why this boy makes us laugh........

1st Teack Meet of the Season

Wolfie had his first track meet yesterday after school. This is him above on the right doing the hurdles. He did great and I'm not sure but may have won this one....not sure as it's a little bit confusing as times and what's going on....but he did a great job and I don't think he even touched one hurdle jumping over them.

Here's Wolfie doing the jumping bar thing. Totally spaced out on the name right now. He cleared 4'4 and made his own personal best yesterday. He did a great job and watching him do this was really amazing.....
I think this is my favorite photo from yesterday. Blows me away that the kids were able to get themselves up and over......

Here's my boi doing the long jump. How cute is this?

Here's Justin (aka J-Dawg, BoBo or BOI) take it in for the mile relay. GREAT job BoBo!!!!

Shhhhhh Don't tell Daddy........

Lexi's SUPER hungry the second her eyes open in the morning......She has her bowl of cereal on moms side of the bed each morning....while watching Arthur....thanks to no cable the morning TV shows are not that great..........I wish I could have breakfast in bed every morning!!!

Choosing a College

My niece got into several different colleges. She's been trying to narrow it down and last weekend went to the last one to check out. Humboldt State University which is in very very Northern California. She really liked it and I have not yet heard her final choice of where she wants to go yet. They said the campus was very nice and lush with green and trees all around. It would be nice if she went there because there's lots of great camping destinations that my family loves up in that area so there would be lots of visiting and camping ahead in the next 4 years for us!!!!

Lexi got to go and check out the college with them and had tons of fun
. It's always an adventure with her Aunt and Uncle and cousins. They dote on her and she loves the attention. She also got a chance to bring her FLAT STANLEY project with her so be sure to check out Aunt Wendy's blog and see where he goes on his travels. Looks like he just got back from Mexico.....wish I would of!!!!

Also on a side note....if you want Flat Stanley to come and visit you there is a FS download on the blog where you can just print him and then cut him out......then just take him on your travels and e-mail the pics to: TravellingStan@aol.com

Napa Style.....

My girl Tam has not been away from her baby girl for an overnight since Feb 06. When little sweet BK was born. So we went to Napa for a girls night away. We got our toes done, shopped, ate, laughed, ate more some, shopped and laugh till we cried. A good night away and much needed!!!!

You can check it all out at by clicking on this Flickr link......

We stayed at this really cozy hotel in Napa called the River Terrace Inn. It's really clean, bathrooms are HEAVEN, and the king size beds are really like a triple king size. The best part about the hotel is that they have a AMAZING breakfast they put out in the mornings. Eggs, potatoes, muffins of all sorts, bagels, lox & cream cheese, salami and various cheeses, fruit, tons of different juices and of course coffee and tea. REALLY yummy!!!! I completely recommend this place and have stayed there twice now.

We ate at the Bounty Hunter in downtown Napa and had the yummy beer can chicken. Neither Tam or I have a refined pallet for wine so we had a light pilsner but be live me the wine was flowing all around us. It was a great spot for people watching and checking out the scene.

It was a great night away and much needed. The only downside was well......I guess I snore now.....yeah that part sucked....for Tam....sorry Tam!!!!!!!!! Love ya!!!!!!

Aunt Wendy ROCKS!!!!

Aunt Wendy took our kids for 5 days over spring break!!! They went to her house and then to Santa Cruz for 2 nights. They had a ton of fun! Cousin Bryce went and Aunt Karen and Brett went down for a little time at the beach also!!!

You can check out Aunt Wendy'sSanta Cruz Photos and see the smiles on their faces!!!

Sorry but your going to have to "old school" it and cut and paste the link my friends......

Luis ROCKS!!!!!!!

I came home the other day from work and there was a surprise waiting for me!!! A totally cool CD music mix from one of our favorite "you wear the shirt so well" friends Luis!!! I IMMEDIATELY put it in and started doing some salsa dancing!!! Luis you ROCK!!!!

You officially have a permanent invitation to our pool all summer and well if the days are too hot and that brown truck and brow uniform feels like it's on fire....what the heck...just jump the fence and take a cool dip!!! The invit to our first summer salsa and patron party will have you and Lori's name on it!!!!

Yeah for Wolfie & Friends!!!!

Wolfie had a big math test this last week. His buddies at school all helped him study and even during recess. I think the deal was if you didn't pass the math test you had to write 100 or 1000 sentences over spring break. He got a B and we are so proud of him. Math's HARD!!!! We also want to send a HUGE thanks out to his friends who all helped him study!!! You guys are GREAT friends !

Basketball....over and out.....

We had our last basketball games today. Since both of my kids played at the same exact time I decided to NOT take any photos. I'm trying to be a fair mom. I don't want one of them to grow up and say to me "Remember the game you DIDN'T come to....but you went to my sisters game and took lots of photos ?" So I just took no photos at all!!! Granted I coach Lexi's team and HAD to be there....I wish I had a clone so I could of been in both places!!!

Wolfie had a great season with his team!!! Out of 10 games (1 bye week) they won 6 games and lost 4 games. A great group of boys working as a team and looking like they were really having fun out on the court!! Also I have to give a virtual high 5 to the coach's. They are 2 really cool high school kids and they did a great job with the boys this season!!! Thanks guys for your support and taking the time with coaching!!!!

Lexi's team had a blast. I co-coached with am amazing coach SJ DENHAM. I also learned a lot and realize that I should not wear flip flops to practice!! The girls on the team were great, spirited and lots of fun to be around. The parents were great and very supportive to us as coaches.

I love basketball season!!! I love seeing how the kids progress as players and really work together as a team!!! Lots of fun!!! Now we move onto Track & Field for Wolfie and for Lexi? Not sure.....she's still got girl scouts to finish out for the year.....then it will be summer....can't wait for that!!!

Someone's been to Mardi Gras!!!!

Lucy's got some explaining to do......

For the Ladies.......

Alright ladies, it's that time of year once again!!! I think we need to be reminded of a few things. So my sisters, PLEASE, raise your big toes and repeat after me below....

The Open Toed Shoe Pledge
As a member of the Cute Girl Sisterhood, I pledge to follow the Rules when wearing sandals and other open-toe shoes:

I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.

I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free.
I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe.

I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow.

I will shave the hairs off my big toe.

I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker, mother, sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.

If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back into place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it.

I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr. Scholl's if my feet need him.

I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low, low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle.

I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna sausages.

I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/coworker when she asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that her toes are as long as my fingers and no sandal makes creepy feet look good.

I will promise if I wear flip flops that I will ensure that they are actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.

I will promise to go to my local nail salon at least once per season and have a real pedicure (they are about $35 and worth EVERY penny).

I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show signs of wear... nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals.

Don't keep this to yourself - pass it on to other sisters.

Yes more basketball........

So there's only one more week left of basketball. Lexi's been playing and having fun. She's been trying to get her hands on the ball more and just has the sweetest smile when she's running down the court.

What a game it was for Wolfie yesterday. He played his BFF's team and it was a AWESOME game and BoBo's team won by one point.........Justin was on FIRE and was playing the hardest I have ever seen him play. Taking it to the HOOP!!!! the pic aboove is EFLOW and BOBO. Great great game boi's!!!! I will make a mental note to NOT take Wolfie to mexican food for lunch before a game. He had the worst tummy ache for the first 2 quarters............

Nice job boys!!!!! Oh yeah and don't forget to check out FLICKR for more weekend fun!!!!

My gurl is turning 7 !!!!!!!!

My little sweetie Lexi Lu turned 7 today. I took popsicles to her school for a warm weather snack and we went out to dinner tonight with her cousins and Aunt and Uncle.

She's a lover of cats, dogs, stuffed animals, her brother, her dad the rock star, pizza, her mom, all her pets, Doritos, her teacher, friends, swimming, her cousins, sleeping in the top bunk now, saving lost dogs, jump rope and lots more!!!
She's a sweet little girl and will still reach out for my hand. She loves to go on adventures and ride her bike. She loves to door bell ditch her friends and can laugh and cry at the drop of a hat. She's got "discriminating" taste when it comes to food and clothes.

She's a joy to be around even when she sassy and wants to be the boss. (Don't know where she got that from?) She's quiet until you get to know her and then watch out!!!!!

Happy Birthday Lexi LU!!!! Mommie loves you to the moon and back!!!

Anyone have a noodle to hold onto?

Okay I'm drowning over here. I admit it I'm having a hard time keeping my head above the water lately. Things are falling by the wayside, I'm overbooking where my kids go after school, forgetting appointments, barely getting the laundry done, forgetting to write an essay on why my kids teacher ROCKS!, to deliver the girl scout cookies, to call the phone company again and find out why our phone is still JACKED UP and I'm sure many more....

I know your thinking "Well she's got time to FLICKR & BLOG" well I guess it's been my escape lately. I'm ready for summer and the nice weather. I can't wait to SPRING FORWARD this weekend and get some longer nights. I hate to sound like my mom but winters are killing me. I just want to feel the sun (even if it's the fake sun from the tanning booth) on my face and know that everything is going to be alright.

Between working 30 hours a week (HEY going from being your own boss and working at home this is a big change), PTO at kids school, girl scouts, sports, house, laundry and everything else....yeah I'm a bit overwhemed. Throw in the mommy guilt that is always there and JOHNNY WE HAVE WINNER!!!! There I said it...said what most moms are thinking. I love my life and would not change with anyone else for a minute. I love and appreciate everything and everyone who's in it. I just need to gripe for a second. I know I have a great husband that would help in a minute if I asked. I truly appreciate that about him.......

Okay so if you have read my "spewage" this far thanks. I'm okay....don't call in the calvary. Just know that I'm getting my tan on very soon and if you have a swim noodle just throw it in my direction.

Happy Anniversary To Us

Okay so the time really flies....we got married 14 years ago today March 6, 1993. We normally know how long we have been together, because we got together when my sister was preggo with our niece and well...she just turned 18.....Rob is wonderful in many ways.....he lets me be me, gives me space, makes sure I don't spend too much money, does the dishes and cooks, take the kids places, tried to keep me in check with myself and many other things. He's one of the sweetest guys and rarely has a bad thing to say about anyone or anybody. Even though he's bringing back the man-butt-pack-purse (for those of you who know Rob you know what I mean) and is a bit of a neat freak......he's still the guy I married all those years ago.....Happy Anniversary Honey!!!!

I know that you all want to see the retro photos of us. You know when Rob had a mullet and wore Rude Dog shorts and drive that hot VW Bug.....and well when I had HUGE glasses and wore clothes that were not all black in color....come on...you know you want to see all that right? Okay I will work on getting some of those vintage pics up.....we all want a good laugh Right?
